What are the reasons for the aging of filter bags?

Filter bag is one of the most popular equipment in the purification industry, and it is also widely used in our daily life. But we all know that the filter bag is a device for filtering impurities and needs to be replaced frequently. How can we effectively prolong its service life and reduce the replacement frequency?

 

First of all, we should pay attention to the aging of the filter bag. Generally, the aging is caused by the following reasons:

 

1. The filter bag hardens and shrinks due to very high temperature
2. The filter bag reacts with the vapor of acid, alkali or organic solvent
3. The filter bag reacts with moisture
4. When the filter bag is blocked and the cloth bag is blocked, the resistance increases, which can be reflected by the increase of the reading of the differential pressure gauge.

 

In case of aging, we should investigate the causes and take corresponding measures.

 

1. Select the filter material suitable for the working environment to make the filter bag.

 

2. Regularly check the use of filter bags.

 

3. The old and new cloth bags should not be mixed to avoid the impact of different damage time on the normal operation of dust removal equipment. The filter cloth should not be hung too loose or too tight. If it is too loose, it is easy to accumulate dust, and if it is too tight, it is easy to be damaged.

 

4. The replaced cloth bag shall be blown out with compressed air first, and then checked for holes. If any holes are repaired, they shall be reserved for replacement. If the cloth bag is pasted by dust, wash it with water and leave it to be replaced after drying.

 

5. Blockage of filter bag. When the cloth bag is blocked, the resistance increases, which can be shown by the increase of the reading of the differential pressure gauge. Cloth bag blockage is the main cause of cloth bag wear, perforation and falling off. Check and repair the causes of filter bag blockage according to the table below.

 

Generally, the following measures are taken:

 

• Temporarily strengthen ash cleaning to eliminate the blockage of cloth bags;
• Replace the cloth bag partially or completely;
• Adjust the installation and operation conditions.
